Mouse on Mars are endowed with the uncommon capacity to somehow become both more abstract and more accessible as they continue. Ten years and eight full-length records down the line and they’re still making unpredictably off-centre stuff that forces the brain and the body equally to get to work. This new one seems especially smarty-party oriented, as if an iPod’s worth of disco and contemporary R & B tracks crashed and became mashed into an undulating funky mass of blips, squiggles, thuds and sweet tunes. Old fans will find some newfound verve; new acquaintances will be suitably impressed. At home in the boom car, on headphones, or in the living room, Radical Connector does what it claims: bringing the disparate together while making it rock.
