Our loss, Jon-Rae Fletcher has moved to Toronto. Why? Good question. Who knows what mysterious winds blow through the hearts and minds of the young? Perhaps often not even the young themselves, we surmise (and recall). Nevertheless, we are happy to announce this impressive new recording by Jon-Rae and his talented band, the River. If ever there was any faint doubt about the genuineness and impressiveness of Jon-Rae’s ability, it is resolved by this great collection of songs, from ballads, to sing-alongs, to all-out rockers. Watching this kid live is something else altogether. He and his band come on like a religious event, captivating audiences with their country-folkie sincerity, invoking a mass conversion of hand clapping and group singing. This recording approximates a Jon-Rae live show: a little rough and tumble, but heavy with feeling. Come on home, buddy.
