^{THE RAPTURE- Echoes}
At this point we hardly need to discuss the merits of The Rapture, of which there are many (in summary, they synthesize the best elements of the current resurgence of the late 70s and early 80s post-punk cum art-funk crossover style, as though played by the Cure). We really don’t need to encourage record sales for them in this ad. A whole book or a dozen glossy magazines couldn’t win people over as effectively as one listen to House of Jealous Lovers, which rocks by any standard. The boys easily sell by reputation, which is still building. What is tempting, instead, is the urge to set up a lemonade-type stand in front of Zulu, handing out piles of Echoes to the teeming crowd of enthusiastic Rapture fans, ever-eager to assimilate the latest in New York cool. And then together in our Converse shoes and tight fitting jeans, we will all dance and dance and dance like total maniacs.
