What a great and welcome thing this is, and not only for those of us no longer motivated to play our 7” records. Harking back to the first M material plus some neat unreleased stuff, such as an odd-ball and drug-addled instrumental version of Turn Turn Turn, this collection of singles and extras from 1995 to 2000 means an hour plus of soothing Pajo-style listening. Yes, the kid has the magic touch—and a fondness for singles! Indeed, Pajo is currently embarked on a new singles series, about which Drag City wryly observes, “Given how often Papa drops a new single into the marketplace, it’s about time for a box fuckin’ set!” Good idea…maybe next year? Lovable, good-humored and thoughtful—they call him Papa.
