Everyone ‘round here knows Carl Newman. I mean we work in a record store for chrissakes and the guy’s not only a certified music junkie, he’s also been making music for certified music junkies for over a decade now. Remember Superconductor? Remember Zumpano? I’m not kidding around here. Anyway, it seems the dude’s been biding his time, sharing the spotlight with Case, Bejar and co. and waiting for a break in the hellish itinerary that plagues the New Porns to finally grace us with his first solo endeavour. For those of you with a soft spot for the perfect pop song (and there’s a lot of you, based on New Pornographers sales alone) this summer is about to get that much better.
