Sixtoo is proud of this new work and he should be. Seems he radically changed his style and learned a lot in the making of this record (or so his liner notes to Chewing on Glass & Other Miracle Cures describe in detail, for the heads that are also nerds — come on now, fess up!), moving away from all-programmed material towards live playing with little post-production computer manipulation. The result is admirable: dark and groovy with an organic feel and lots of air. Ninja Tune describes it as a “psyche rock/jazz masterpiece as made by a long time hip-hop producer.” We simply describe it as “great instrumental hip hop.” Featuring Can’s Damo Suzuki, Norsola and Thierry from Godspeed You Black Emperor, Matt Kelly, Eric Craven from The Hanged Up, and many others.
