If I had the cash to make something good I'd give it to Geary. Send his ass down to L.A. with a wrench to pull out the gold teeth in their shit film smile. Why? Gritty realism is not achieved in the studio back lots. Gritty realism doesn't come with a bunch of extras looking to score a part in the next Punk'd drama. Traffic sucked. So did 21 Grams. I turned Spun off right after the opening credits. Boycott the next Hollywood 'tales from the gutter ' treatment and get with the scene On the Corner! N.G.'s debut has it all, including this pretty sweaty soundtrack from local producer Michael Campitelli a.k.a. Calamalka. His gritty landscape of 70's beats, Satie futurism keyboards and wah-wah excess set the tone big time. Recommended.
