BLACK DICE- Creature Comforts
'Black Dice Baby! Black Dice Baby!' The rally cry spread like grandma
Alice' s yellow fever through the ubiquitous crowd gathered in the brownstone Brooklyn loft. An eight by ten greenhouse had been installed in the middle of the space and some balloon art hung on the walls giving the ash colored room the verisimilar feel of a late '70s no-wave art roast. Which Black Dice would be showing up? Was this to be the post-punk meets electroclash incarnation that first dropped at 2002's DFA coming out
party? Or was it to be the anti-music experimentalists that flirted the sonic deconstruction of 'primitive' electro industrialists Throbbing Gristle? Perhaps it was to be the dreamy ambient trio who in true Eno-esque fashion plotted a landscape of loops, effects and synthesized bliss? There was so much smoke in the room I couldn't see my own hand in front of my face. Disoriented, I joined the chant 'Black Dice Baby! Black Dice Baby!'
