Hello summer, I just found your soundtrack! The debut long player from VanCity's The Cinch, and the long awaited follow-up to 2002's much-loved self-titled ep. Ten more hits of their Stereolab-meet-the-Feelies-in-the-hot-NYC-back-alleys-and-have-a-drone-fight vibe. My god, highlights abound! "Forwards & Backwards", "Fade Out" and "Killer Fog" are all perfect heavy pop rockers the Cinch are known for, while "Painkiller" (featuring a warped Standells-ripped guitar riff) and "Losin' Your Head" show off the dreamy & noisy Fall/Neu! path the band takes frequently live. There's also the unmistakable Will Sergeant influence on Mark Epp's guitar work which becomes more and more apparent every minute. This is the sun burnt and cracked street hassle of the year!
