^{TRIOSK MEETS JAN JELINEK- 1+3+1}
That Jan Jelinek loves jazz is obvious. His excellent 2000 recording, Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records, illustrates this interest: a warm and crackly tribute, a top record of its year for us at Zulu. Triosk are an Australian jazz trio, adventurous in their own right. The two sides swapped tapes through the mail. Based in Berlin, Jelinek sent sounds and textures to Triosk, Triosk sent their contribution using that material back to Jelinek, and Jelinek finished the collaboration, thus 1 + 3 + 1. Not surprisingly, it is a perfect joining, both sides acting differently yet complimentarily, displaying a sense of empathy that is impressive due to the long distance between them. 1 + 3 + 1 = a good listen.
